If there is anything that I’ve learned over the last couple of years, it’s that becoming rabbi is a continual spectrum. My dear rabbi, Rabbi Bradley Artson would say something like – the journey of becoming is never complete.
So this here is my documentation…a reflection in action; a living chronicle of the pathway into ancient texts…traditions…stories, life and belief into the great beyond.
The four years+ into the experience have been rewarding, challenging, beautiful and…consistently unfolding. Thank you for joining me along the way!
Who is Aviva?
Musician, facilitator, student, teacher, mother, wife…are a few of the piece that make me who I am. I’ve recently completed my fourth year of rabbinical studies – this last year being in the holy land of Jerusalem, Israel. I am passionate about spiritual living and find a deep meaning in Torah and Jewish tradition. I enjoy writing and sharing Jewish folk music through use of our holy liturgy in both Hebrew and English, leading drum circles and festive Shabbatot. I hold a bachelors degree from Arizona State in Performance/Theatre, and worked as a professional Clown/Children’s Entertainer in Arizona for nearly a decade. I am excited to see my two worlds of Jewish leadership and entertainment come together and such a unique way!
I am currently available for group workshops, one-on-one spiritual mentorship, as well as B’nai Mitzvah tutoring.
Thank you for sharing the journey of Becoming Rabbi with me!
